What do other computer users say about DpAgent?

I think "Digital Persona" is the program (on HP computers at least) that manages the fingerprint scanner.

It is part of the Digital Persona fingerprint scanner software. dpagent.exe can cause problems with msn/windows live messenger. If autorun is removed from registry it still starts on system boot. just rename the .exe to dpagent.exe.bak or something if your messenger acts weird.
Andreas Späth
DpAgent.exe belongs to the fingerprint identity solution provided by DigitalPersona. Works on Dell laptops. (further information...)

It is run from the Digital Persona on HP computers. Digital Persona runs the fingerprint scan/face recognition for login. On any non-HP system, it might be a problem.

We installed our software at a customer's computer and wondered why the windows return the result imeediately instead waiting for a button press event. For showing windows we used the API SendMessage function which usually calls the window procedure for the specified window and does not return until the window procedure has processed the message. We spent one day to find out that if we shutdown the DpAgent.exe the SendMessage function works properly.
